People in the streets selling crack every day
While mothers have to watch their babies die
Some people will do whatever they can
To get what they need for the next high
Youngsters they get gunned down in the street
While others die from a knife to their heart
Oh can’t you see that the way that we live
Is tearing us apart

People struggle on every day to pay their bills
Wondering how to make ends meet
The system keeps us down the government tells us lies
Don’t know who to trust on the street
Through the far reaching power of globalisation
The rich are getting richer every day
The top 5 percent full of greed want it all
While the rest of us have to pay
I say
